Terms & Conditions

1. General

By enrolling on a course at Skin Thirteen Training Academy, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions, alongside our full Policies & Procedures, which align with VTCT and OFQUAL requirements. These terms are designed to ensure fairness, professionalism, and the safety of all learners and staff.

2. Booking & Payments

  • Payment Options: Courses may be paid in full via bank transfer, or through an agreed payment plan (4-6 equal instalments depending on the course).
     

  • Obligation: Regardless of completion, the full course fee remains payable. Failure to meet payment commitments will result in legal action VTCT student registration.
     

  • Payment Plans: All instalments must be made on the agreed dates. By signing up, you confirm your capability to make payments in full and on time.
     

3. Cancellations & Refunds

  • Student Cancellations: Written notice must be given within 10 days of booking to cancel. After this period, course fees are non-refundable and non-transferable
    VTCT student registration.
     

  • Academy Cancellations: Should a course be cancelled due to low numbers or unforeseen circumstances, we will endeavour to transfer your booking to the next available date.

4. Course Completion & Assessments

  • Learners have 12 months from registration to complete their qualification VTCT student registration.

 

  • Most awarding bodies allow up to 3 assessment attempts (not all). Any additional attempts will incur a fee (£75 per assessment, up to £275 per day).
     

  • If deemed unsafe or not competent to progress, learners will not be permitted to continue. In such cases, fees remain non-refundable.
     

  • All learners must meet VTCT criteria to achieve certification.
     

5. Insurance & Professional Responsibility

  • Skin Thirteen holds Public & Products Liability insurance (£2,000,000) and Advanced Treatment & Teaching Cover.
     

  • Learners are responsible for ensuring they can obtain appropriate professional insurance after completing training. Skin Thirteen cannot be held liable if your chosen insurer does not accept your qualification VTCT student registration.

6. Policies & Procedures

The following academy policies apply to all learners:

  • Appeals Policy: Learners may appeal assessment decisions within 10 working days. Internal and external review routes are available, including escalation to VTCT if required.
     

  • Complaints Policy: Concerns raised informally will be acknowledged within 3 days. Formal complaints will be investigated and responded to within 15 working days, with further escalation available to VTCT.
     

  • Equality & Diversity Policy: We are committed to inclusivity and will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or victimisation. Reasonable adjustments will be provided where required.
     

  • Health & Safety Policy: All learners receive a safety induction. Risk assessments, fire drills, and first aid support are in place.
     

  • Malpractice & Maladministration Policy: Fraud, falsification, or failure to follow assessment procedure will result in investigation and potential reporting to VTCT.
     

  • Conflict of Interest Policy: All conflicts must be declared; alternative assessors will be assigned where necessary.
     

  • Data Protection (GDPR) Policy: Learner data is handled securely, used only for training/regulatory purposes, and retained for 3 years post-certification unless otherwise required by law.
     

  • Reasonable Adjustments & Special Considerations: Adjustments for long-term needs and considerations for short-term issues (illness, bereavement) will be reviewed in line with VTCT guidelines.

7. Learner Conduct

  • Learners must uphold the Student Behaviour Policy at all times.
     

  • Professional behaviour, respect for others, and compliance with health & safety rules are mandatory.
     

  • Breach of conduct may result in removal from training without refund.
     

8. Liability

  • Skin Thirteen Training Academy accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property during training.
     

  • We are not liable for any inability to obtain employment or insurance following course completion.

9. Agreement

By booking a course with Skin Thirteen Training Academy, you confirm that you have:

  • Read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
     

  • Read and accepted the Appeals, Complaints, Induction, and Behaviour policies.
     

  • Acknowledged the non-refundable nature of course fees after the 10-day cancellation period.
